Shadowstar dodged the attack with a few scrapes imprinted on his smokey black belly. He was loosing blood... And it was obvious Featherstar was too. Winced as blood began to matt his fur. Stones flew into his wounds and stung them like mad. Thats it! He ran to an area of stones and then kicked them into the areas of her main wounds. His vision was fading slowly. A huge headache pressed over him.
He growled but continued to kick the small stones into her bloody injuries. His blue eyes turned a menacing violet which glowed powerfully. He targetted a direct aim at her shoulder wound. Then he kicked out with his hind legs, throwing the gray stones up into the air. Would it hit her? Would it miss?

Everything screamed in protest as Featherstar raced forward, trying to evade the steady stream of gray rubble. She couldn't move very quickly anymore, and several stones hit their mark. Stinging pain laced up her body. The word infection drifted into her spinning head, but she shoved it off. She sagged slightly, then forced herself to try and ran after Shadowstar. She tripped and fell to the ground. A stabbing pain shot through her shoulder, and she tried to stagger to her feet, but to little avail. Her body was shutting itself down, trying to preserve her life. Featherstar was making that extremely difficult.

Shadowstar stalked unsteadily forth and began to look down on Featherstar. Very slowly he lunged down to bite her throat. But then, just before the fangs in his mouth moulded onto her neck, He froze. His vision had turned red and his headache proved to much. He let out a screech of pain and twisted around. Featherstar had been lucky that they had matched defeat at the same time. He flung his head around and then collapsed beside Featherstar. His sight began to fade and his blue orbs closed.

Featherstar's sight went black just as Shadowstar dove towards her. For a second she thought she was going to loose her first life, but then darkness overtook her and she couldn't think anymore. She crashed to the ground from her half-standing position.

"Featherstar!" Nighthunder dashed onto the bloody, claw-scored battlefield. He pressed a paw to her throat and sighed with relief. There was a pulse. Hesitantly he approached Shadowstar. The tom was still alive, too, but just barely. He began to return to Featherstar, then paused midway between the two limp forms. Where did his loyalty lie here? There was an equal pull to the both of them, and he didn't know which he would choose.

"Featherstar!" A coarse mew rolled off the tom cat`s toungue before he had thought better of it, as he padded up to his leader. Herbs dropped at his paws and his troubled face turned slightly angry to Nighthunder. His paws suddenly ached at the thought of another couple who once loved each other. He hadn`t been able to save them, either. 'Nighthunder...' The name echoed in his head as he checked Featherstar himself, carefully removing stones that had been pelted into her and placing some cobwebs gently on her wounds. That was all he could do for now. Then he turned to Nighthunder. "Choose your loyalty, boy. Unfortunatly, a cat can only go one way. I`m no one to make your decisions for you. Niether can Shadowstar, or Featherstar. The only cat that can do that is you. You`re smart, Nighthunder. I know you can make the right decision." He gulped warily, unsure what his sudden mewing would cause. He certainly didnt want to anger the warrior. He simply wanted him to understand.

Nighthunder glanced up in surprise. He hadn't expected a WindClanner to talk to him. Actually, he expected to be clawed across the face. His tail lashed angrily; not at Oakfur, but at himself. "I don't know!" he wailed. "I promised Featherstar I'd.... But I pledged my loyalty to ShadowClan! I can't join another Clan against them. But I can't go back, either, can I?" He glanced at Shadowstar's still body and shuddered, remembering his leader's actions only earlier this night. Erm, last night, he corrected, glancing at the sun, which glared down upon them. "I need time. And i need to know that Featherstar's going to be OK. It was my fault, after all."

Oakfur let his wispy tail whip around before speaking again. "Featherstar will be fine. She is a leader, after all. And strong." He ran his rough paw over Featherstar`s sleek fur, sticky with blood. Oakfur pulled away, suddenly disdainful at the feel of blood on his pads. He looked to Nighthunder. "Well,if you`re so confused, then why don`t you walk along the stars..." His eyes distanced to the Mother Mouth. "The quarter-moon is very close." They slowly closed over, almost remembering his last visit with his ancestors. They flickered open again and he looked to Nighthunder, soft, pale gaze suddenly becoming razor sharp. "Every cat should know where he belongs. Even if they dont."

Shadowstar had fallen into a world of StarClan. A dream land of one he had never ventured before. He could hear the conversations around him... But it didn't sink in and work his brain to tell him what they were saying. And even if he could, every time he opened his black furred muzzle to talk, Things were silent. Apart from in this world. Everything was active... Alive with prey... The cat twitched in the real world... The tom was alive and growing stronger by the second.

Nightdance let out a cry as his brother collapsed infront of his eyes. He darted over to him, Shoving Nightthunder out of the way. He licked Shadowstar's wounds. Raggedflight sat awestruck.
"If you choose ShadowClan, Nightthunder, None of us will hate you. If you choose WindClan... It is a bitter war at the moment my brother in ShadowClan... If you choose WindClan, You may meet and have to battle your friends in harsh combat. But I am not here to make the decision... It is what you follow which makes a difference and it tells you a little more about your heart... Trust me... I know." The cat spoke of the times he had spent in BloodClan... And how he would rage a war with them some day soon.

"I-" Nighthunder paused, the words caught in his throat. "I can't choose now. I always knew that I would have to, but I hoped that it would never happen. Yes, I could ask them," his tail motioned to the sky, and he looked at Oakfur. "But I'm no medicine cat. And I have broken the warrior code. StarClan never protested, but I'm sure they disapprove." He spoke slowly, as if tasting each word before it left his mouth. "And I can't fight against you," he turned to Nightdance. "So I'd be of no use to WindClan, when it came down to it, and I can't be a burden." Nighthunder's gaze flicked back to Oakfur. "Are you sure she'll be fine?"

Oakfur ran a swipe of pink over his jowels, listening to Nighthunder. He curled his tail around his paws,s uddenly becoming defensive with all the Shadowclan cats near. He returned to Nighthunder. "Love cannot be held by a non-existant code." He suddenly wished he had of kept his comments to himself, but that was not the case. Oakfur began licking the dried blood off of Featherstar`s pelt, calmness seeping back into his wired pelt. "Of course she`ll be fine."
How could he be a medicine cat if he didnt believe in the warrior code? It wasn`t that, he just said it was non-existant. You didn`t have to follow it. But still, a tingle ran across his spine as a cloud drifted lazily about in the sky.

Nighthunder's eyes narrowed. Non-existent? Since when? If it wasn't for the warrior code, there'd be chaos! The Clans would not only fight each other, but themselves as well. Nighthunder's thought held the slightest tinge of panic. A medicine cat more or less said the code didn't exist. He kept his worries to himself, though. "I'll go stay with Storm," he murmured abruptly. "Until I can figure this out. Don't be surprised if I show up on your land." Aware of all the eyes that seemed to be boring into his pelt, Nighthunder pressed his nose to an uninjured spot on Featherstar's pelt. "Stay safe." he whispered. Then he slowly began to walk in the general direction of Storm's barn, glancing back every few fox-lengths.

Storm had been expecting them. He had smelt and heard the battle for a while but he hadn't gone to disturb. Storm set out a nest for two cats, Carefully lining it with feathers and moss.
Nightdance nodded solemnly and let out a call for his nephew- JetCloud. He licked his brother slowly and looked up. The bushes were rustling.
The bushes rustled as a large black tom who was almost an identical image of his father, leaped into the clearing. He looked shocked at the collapse of his closest relative!
Tawnypelt also ran after her mate, checking him over while JetCloud gave the all clear.

Oakfur`s face betrayed nothing, but now there was a high amount of SHadowclan cats here.He would leave.Actually,he had been waiting for Jetcloud. He,even if from Windclan, didnt feel like leaving Shadowstar without another Med. Cat near.He dipped his head politely and glanced around quickly."Who...Who...Who-Nightcloud!"His eyes narrowed suddenly.
The black cats green eyes flashed open.Darn, the cat had seen him.He pulled out a huge, drawn out sigh and padded towards him."Yes,Oakfur?"He asked boredly.
Oakfur held his narrowed gaze steady and nodded to Featherstar."Help me.I want to get her back to my den, back wth the herbs."
Nightcloud felt his eyes roll and he reluctantly let his well-muscled legs slide under Featherstar and prop up under his leader, placing her onto Oakfur back.He watched the Med. Cat buckle slightly, but stay strong."So long,Shadowclan..."He said softly, green eyes glinting."Come along,Nightcloud!"Oakfur snarled ahead of him.Nightcloud flicked his tail and bounded off, staying close to Oakfur.
Ugh.Oakfur.

"Storm?" Nighthunder walked slowly, his eyes adjusting to the darker confines of the barn. "I guess you were expecting me." he muttered, smiling slightly. Somehow, the old tom always managed to predict what was coming fairly accurately. It was uncanny, but useful...sometimes. "Well, then. I think you know what happened, too. What do you think?"

Storm narrowed his ice blue eyes. His tail flicked. "I know exactly what happened. Both leaders both passed out from blood loss" He explained, with incredible accuracy. Then he noted that there were three cats. So he raised up and build another nest. He looked up at his own nest, like a pedistool it stood. The old wooden ladder which led up to the large 'shelf' in the barn. He nodded and bounded up the large stacks of hay and straw. Then he made a huge leap which led him to his shelf den. He picked up a few ready-dead mice and threw them down. He then followed them in a long dive. Suprisingly, he landed gracefully on the ground.
