"Right. Of course." she muttured, her voice flat. Her eyes fell upon the untouched poppy seeds Lightningfire had put before her. She lapped them up slowly. She couldn't end it then, but she should have. Oh, she should have. And now it was going to cost her more than she had bargined for. Was there another option? She didn't think so...or maybe...
Suddenly Featherstar stopped thinking. She couldn't think, because she was asleep.

A cat padded into the den, but it wasn't Oakfur. His fur was dark as night with light gray colours splotched onto his pelt. His brilliant green eyes looked Featherstar over. His mind whirred with possiblities. He pushed them away, though. He had a pawful of berries and he dumped them in a corner of the den, then wiped his paws, thoroughly disgusted. He walked past Featherstar again. His eyes narrowed. His claws unsheathed and he flexed them before returning back to their sockets and walking out of the den. He could wait. He was patient.
Oakfur brushed Nightcloud as he entered camp again, and felt his fur prickle. Nightcloud turned his hot gaze upon him. Oakfur held him strong and they stood there, minds clicking in a perfect harmony. Oakfur knew Nightcloud's every pawstep. Nightcloud knew the same. Finally, with an almost dismissive flick of a tail, Oakfur padded past Nightcloud and back into the den. He glanced at Featherstar. "Rest, Featherstar. You're safe in your dreams." He paused, tasting the air. "Nightcloud.."He narrowed his eyes and stared outside, then back to Featherstar. She seemed okay. He shrugged it off and sat down, sighing. Maybe he didn't know Nightcloud's every pawstep...
