Nursing the kits

Moonfrost was layed stretched out in a moss bedding, with her four kits suckling, trying to find milk.
"There there my little ones," she mewed softly, "There's plenty of milk to go around."


Skykit poked her head up. Her tummy was full of warm delicious milk. She stumbled over to where her mother's head rested and sat down. She gave her mommy a little lick on the ear and rubbed against her neck, making herself cozy.

Silverkit mewled softly, for he was being squeezed out of the way. He pushed against the other kits and burrowed into his mother's stomach. Finally getting some milk, he let out a triumphant mew and then began to suckle.

Swallowtail burst into the nursery, a tiny gray bundle swinging from her mouth. Swallowtail carefully placed the kit down. Panting she gasped, "i found a kit."

The small gray kit mewed and flailed around now that she smelled milk. she was extremely hungry, she hadn't had any milk for a long time. If she didn't get milk soon she would die, her kit instinct told her.

Moonfrost gasped. "Where did you find it? Her.. i mean." seeing that the small kit was a she-cat.
"Nevermind that, how long has she been without milk? She can come and suckle if she wants, Skykit just finished."
She nosed the kit over to her belly next to Silverkit.

Skykit mewled and looked up, smelling anew scent. Another kit? she thought.
She tried to smile at the newcomer, though she had just opened her eyes awhile ago and it was a bit difficult.

Silverkit was still happily getting milk and was unwilling to look up as the new kit snuggled beside him to share his mother's yummy milk.

Lightningfire burst in angrily with Thunderkit dangling from his mouth, "This kit was found messi-" He stopped at he saw the new kit there "Who is this"

Moonfrost glanced up to see her mate with Thunderkit.
"This is a little she-kit that Swallowtail found all alone. It needs milk or else she will die. So I'm nursing her until we find the queen." she replied.
"Now what did Thunderkit do this time?" she chuckled.

Skykit looked up from her cozy place by her mommy's neck and mewled a greeting to her brother, Thunderkit. She saw her daddy's angry expession and grinned at Thunderkit.
"ooo you in twouble!!!" she mewed.

Silverkit burrowed out from under his mommy's belly, having finished getting milk. He scented his brother, Thunderkit, and turned around to see him. He saw daddy too.
"Daddy!" he squeaked, and stumbled towards Lightningfire. Silverkit began purring and accidentally tripped at Lightningfire's feet.

Laughing he put Thunderkit down, "Do you want to play Silverkit?"

Thunderkit tried to look innocent and mewled, "Mummy? I... Wove you!"

Sunkit mewled happily, "me want to pway two!"

Moonfrost grinned at Lightningfire.
She laughed a sweet, honey laugh, sighing, "I know you do Thunderkit! But you need to try to stay out of trouble! Honestly, what am I going to do with you?"
Gesturing towards Silverkit, she meowed to Lightningfire, "Silverkit's been looking for you all day. He keeps whining about wanting to play with daddy," she chuckled.

Skykit mewled out what sounded like a cough and a giggle.
She unsteadily walked towards Thunderkit and mewed, "Tundewkit! You is a bad kit! You in twouuuuuubbbble!!"
She started giggling again and tripped over her tail, falling into Thunderkit.

Silverkit's eyes lit up as Lightningfire asked if he wanted to play. He got back up and gave his daddy a cute little smile. He began bouncing up and down.
"Yay daddy!! Play play!!"
Turning to Sunkit, Silverkit added, "OKay Sunkit! Play wif me an' daddy!!!!

He rolled over, "What do you want to play?"

Thunderkit whimpered and gave his mummy the 'puppy dog eyes'.

"YAY! DADDY!"

Moonfrost grinned at Lightningfire. "You're just a big kit!" she teased.
She turned back to Thunderkit, "Oh, it's alright this time I suppose. Don't give me that cute little look! Come here little one," she smiled, and began to groom Thunderkit's head.

Skykit was still in hyper mode. ((lol xD))
She pounced on Lightningfire, and rolled off him like a little ball.
"I wanna play!!" she giggled.

Silverkit grinned and pounced near Lightningfire's tail, trying to playfully batter it.
"I like wabbit!" he randomly yelled to no one in particular.

"You want to have some rabbit? Moonfrost? Do you think they could try a little bit of meat?"

Moonfrost thought a moment, and slowly nodded.
"They're old enough to try a morsel. But don't give them more than a berry's worth." she meowed.

Skykit grinned. "Yay!! What's wabbit?"

Silverkit looked at his sister incredulously.
"It's the stuff daddy bwings mommy to eat!"

"Ok i will be back in a minute!"

Seconds later he came back with a rabbit. Carefully he picked out a tiny piece of flesh and rolled it to Silverkit. Then again to Skykit then again to Sunkit and finally he rolled one to Thunderkit.

"TWIS WIS WOVEY! CAN I HAWVE SWOME MWORE?" Thunderkit and Sunkit mewed.

Moonfrost smiled as her kits tasted the rabbit.
"I think they like it," she laughed and winked at Lightningfire.

Skykit wrinkled her nose in disgust.
"It smewws bad, but it tastes goooood!!" she mewed.

Silverkit gulped the small bit of rabbit down hungrily.
"Yay!! I want mowe!!!"

"Should we let them?"

Moonfrost shook her head.
"That's enough for one day. They'll be able to have more in about a moon, when they can fully eat meat."

Skykit began bawling.
"But I WANT MOWE!!!" she yowled.

Silverkit looked a bit dejected, then brightened.
"Cheew up Skykit! In a moon we get to have all da wabbit we want!!"
