Miraclepaw shook out her coat in disgust. How can they stand the water? she thought. It didn't matter, really, as long as she completed her mission. Her yellow orbs drifted back to Bloodclaw. Why was she doing this? She didn't have to, and she didn't really know why.
He was right behind her, and she nodded before walking on silent paws toward the den where the kits were being kept. She peered in. The silver she-cat lay curled up in a nest. Close by was a kit who must have been Amberkit. And a bit further away was Smoulderkit.

Bloodclaw followed up to his apprentice,carefull to drain the water from his thick pelt.He loked at Miraclepaw,flicking his ears."Are we taking them both?"He whispered,craning his neck to see both his kits."I would hope so...It`d make them easier to take along.Those two are liek glue,form what I`ve heard,"He growled low and almost silently.

"Alright.You try Smoulderkit.He seems to like you.And I`ll get Amberkit,"He padded forward,inviting Miraclepaw in aswell."COme on!"He hissed,disapearing into the den.

Miraclepaw nodded again and padded forward stealthily. Carefully stepping over some scattered herbs that had fallen on the ground, she made her way to the sleeping scrap of fur. She bent down and clamped her jaws gently but firmly around his neck and picked him up.

Snowbird stared at Heronfrost. "Huh? What?" Her eyes roamed around. This wasn't like her other dreams. Recently she could only dream that terrible dream in camp, but now she was at Fourtrees. "You need to wake up, Snowbird." "But this is the first good sleep I've had in moons!" "Just do it!" Heronfrost hissed. I've never seen him this angry before. Snowbird thought in amazement. Not even that time when I put mouse-bile on that cut. She was startled into complience.
Snowbird blinked slowly. Who was that? "Bloodclaw!" She whispered at first, then her voice began to rise. "What are you doing with that - Ugh!" Miraclepaw watched passively as the silver she-cat's body crumpled to the floor, blood welling out of the cuts on her head. "She won't die. Come, before the rest of the camp wakes up." Miraclepaw muttered, taking up Smoulderkit again. She hurried out of the den.

Bloodclaw nodded,adverting his gaze from the blood.He walked over to his daughter,picking up Amberkit gently by the scruff.She opened her eyes slowly,yawned,then shifted her tiny body again and fell back to sleep.Bloodclaw carefully padded out of the den,dipping into the water.He hissed through fur and swam across to Thunderclan.

Miraclepaw waited until her mentor was halfway across the channel before swimming over herself, struggling to keep Smoulderkit's head above the water. When she was on the other side, she didn't even pause to shake that loathsome water out of her fur. They had to be well out of RiverClan Territory before that cat woke and raised the alarm.

Bloodclaw felt Amberkit`s body squirm in the chill of the water,and he was quick to scramble onto the shore.He padded along the river for a moment,then cut through into the trees,near the Twoleg place."Almost there,and you both can be warm,"He growled,leaping onto a fence,keeping Amberkit clamped saftly in his jaws.Smoulderkit squirmed uncomfortably in Miraclepaw`s mouth. |

"Hush, little one. Just a few tree-lengths to go." Miraclepaw muttered to Smoulderkit through his fur in the most motherly way she could manage. She trailed close behind Bloodclaw.

Bloodclaw disapeared into a clump of dark trees,only to reapear back in Bloodclan camp.

Miraclepaw sighed and laid Smoulderkit in a nest scratched out of the dirt. She stretched and shook the water out of her fur, then lay down and closed her eyes pensively. She needed to rehearse what to say to the kits when they woke.
