Name: Shadowflame
Gender: Tom
Age: 4 years
Clan you would like to join: WindClan
Appearance: Shadowflame looks remarkably like his father, Tallstar. He has soft yellow eyes. His pelt is mostly white, but there are splotches of black scattered around his coat. The most noticeable is the black 'mask' on his face and the small patch of black on his chin.
Personality: Shadowflame is extremely loyal to WindClan. He shoulder's all his clan's troubles and tries to pull them through even the darkest times. His overprotecting nature makes his a little close-minded, though, and he tends to be a little hostile to the other clans. To his own clan, however, he is a very sweet - if not sometimes annoying - tom.
History: Shadowflame was born in the year before WindClan was driven from their lands. His experience with the suffering and depression of that time shaped his personality completely. After that, he excelled quickly, continuously telling himself he needed to become stronger for his clan. Soon he received his warrior name from his father. Shadowflame was puzzled. Though he was proud of his name, he couldn't help but wonder why it had to be such an oxymoron. Later Tallstar told him that he was named so because he was the light for their clan, their fire in the shadows. Tallstar died three days later. Wrought with agony over his father's death, Shadowflame only pushed himself harder. He watched Featherstar take the leadership cautiously, but relaxed as she took the reigns in a firm paw. Shadowflame has not yet had an apprentice.
RP Example: Your name is Shadowflame. Bear it well. Tallstar's last words at his warrior ceremony replayed themselves in his head for the umpteenth time. Shadowflame shook his head impatiently. The name was strange, that was for sure, and he honestly couldn't see why his father had named him so. He shook himself again and pushed his way into Tallstar's den.
"Tallstar?" he called as his eyes adjusted to the scant light. "Yes, my son?" Tallstar's weak voice drifted to his ears. Shadowflame hesitated, then sat down slowly. "Are you OK, Tallstar? I could get the medicine cat, if you - " "No, no, I will be fine." Tallstar interrupted him. "Please, tell me what's on your mind." Shadowflame sighed. His father could read him so well. "I was wondering...about my..." Shadowflame trailed off, unsure of how to ask. "You are wondering why I named you that, aren't you, Shadowflame?" Tallstar wheezed. "Yes, but... Are you sure your alright?" Shadowflame asked with concern. "Never felt better." Tallstar replied. "As for you name...You were named for your perseverance, your strong loyalty to the warrior code, and your protectiveness to your clan, Shadowflame. You were only an apprentice when we were forced to live under the thunderpath, but you did much more then that which was required of you. You were our light in the darkness, then, and I hope you will always be. Our flame in the shadows-" Tallstar's weak voice was cut off by a series of wheezing coughs. Despite the pride he felt swelling in his chest, Shadowflame was worried. His father was not young, and no matter how vehemently he rejected the need for a medicine cat, it was obvious that he needed one. Indecision lighted his eyes for a moment. "Thank you for telling me that, father." Shadowflame said softly. "I needed to know that. I'll be right back." Without waiting for a reply, Shadowflame turned as he stood and hurried out of the den. No matter what Tallstar said, he was getting a medicine cat!
