As the screen door opened and a Twoleg walked in, Riley saw his chance. He darted out the door at a fairly good speed and was outside. In the yard, but outside. He wondered if any of the other kittypets were out today. For some reason, Riley was feeling social. This was an odd thing for him, for Riley was usually the kind of cat who kept to himself. He glanced next door, to where Lily lived, but she wasn't out. He was fine with that. Lily was a little too social, and would talk for hours on end. Riley smirked to himself. Life would get better, he was sure.

Dark, solid gray fur sat perched upon Riley`s fence, watching him with a blank face."Finnaly got out,did you?"Her voice was cool and smooth, but with an intense crackle.Like lightning.Murky,yellow-green eyes surveyed the yard."What`s you name?"

Riley jumped at the sound of the she-cat's voice. He smirked, and was about to say Riley...but realized this was his Twoleg-given name. Spitting upon the ground, he answered, "Brokenheart." He paused, then grinned again. "And yours?"

Swampeye raised an eyebrow only slightly.Brokenheart.Undoubtedly,not his Twoleg name. She leapt down from the fence and came closer, glancing around quickly before speaking."Swampeye.But you must call me Cane."Her eyes narrowed sharply."My life is on the line."

Riley smirked. "Ah, so I would likely be guessing right if I said you have been exiled by one of the Clans around here? Brokenheart was my name in FireClan, a Clan in a forest far from here. But the Twolegs who took me call me Riley. Either is fine, however, I consider Brokenheart my true name." Riley paused again, before continuing. "My siblings, Bloodpool and Hawktalon, as well as myself, were all driven from FireClan for...well, for some of us, supposed murder, for others, actual."

Swampeye simply nodded as he stated his story, then grinned."And which one were you accused of,do I want to ask?"Her grin was gone the moment it came, and she flicked her tail boredly."Yes,I was exiled, twice.Once after the apprentice, second after my son."'Cane'`s eyes flickered as she fell into thought.

Again, a smirk fell across the tom's face. "I was accused for the murder of two cats. First, Serpentfang, after she disappeared. But that wasn't me...she returned, to drive Hawktalon from FireClan. The second, after I was allowed back with my Clan, was for the murder of Frostflower, another she-cat, and her three kits: Oceankit, Flamekit, and Eaglekit. Those ones, I did do." Riley's grin widened sickly. "My brother, Hawktalon, was accused for the murder of Thinstar's son, Longface. Bloodpool...we are unsure of how many she killed or didn't kill." His tail curled tightly along his body, as if it was ready to lash out if Riley was attacked by another. Not that, as a kittypet, one would be attacked often. "Exiled twice? Then, you and I are alike. With the exception that I was brought back to my Clan."

Swampeye nodded, listening carefully."Interesting.I dont waste time on kits, though."Turquoise eyes flashed in her mind breifly."Though,I dont mind making orphans."Her eyes flashed.Well,Bushkit was lucky.Swampeye had left her mother.
"Truely, though,I wasnt always in a Clan.Like you,I came from far away from here, but not another clan.A tribe."
Her fur spiked a bit,angry.

"Orphans, eh? Well, that'd be fun," Riley answered with a sick grin. Had anyone been eavesdropping on the pair, it would be obvious now that Riley was a true murderer. A kittypet, but a murderer. Not that anyone was, but unbeknownst to Riley and 'Cane', there was another who would soon enter this conversation. "Tribe? I've heard of tribes before...one used to live not far from our territory. A small one, but all the same..." The sound of a door opening made Riley's fur stand on end a little, and his ears pricked up high.
Lily mewed thanks to her owner as she dashed out the door. The young kittypet was in an excellent mood. She hadn't thought of Fuzzy or Dusty or Cloverleaf once since she got up this morning. Rex hadn't bothered her at all, the Twolegs had both been wonderful to her...and she had been given, by the she-Twoleg, three shrimps! Today, was an excellent day. Lily noticed, after she heard voices - not what they said, but that they were there - that Riley was out. Grinning, she climbed up the fence seperating their yards, and leapt over. Acknowledging both cats in his yard, she grinned widely. "Hiya!"

Swampeye turned her head mechaniacly to face the kittypet, her eyebrows raised warningly. Her eye narrowed."Hello."Her voice suddnely went to smooth to feircely cold. Her murky gaze surveyed the cat.Vibes bouncing of Riley told her he wasnt fond either.

Lily felt a heavy feeling in her legs, as if they were made of lead. There was something about this cat. She didn't smell right, she smelled like something else than what Lily knew. In fact, her smell was closer to that of her mother. She could vaguely remember it, and it set of at once the memory of her father, a tom called Fuzzy, telling her that not all cats lived in houses. That some lived in Clans. "H-hi?" she stammered, shaking a little fearfully. "I-I-I'm L-Lily. And y-you?" The colourful world Lily had just lived in suddenly seemed very dark and seemed as if it was in black and white. Yes, there was something very wrong here.
Riley's fur stood on end as he saw the kittypet leap into the yard he had come to realize was his territory. But in this case, he didn't want to make her leave just because this was his home, but because this conversation could have led to something much more interesting than what it would become if Lily stayed. "...and..." he looked around, nervously trying to come up with something. "...that's how...how I ended up here! Fascinating, eh Cane?"

"Cane."She said coldly again, enjoying the way she was making Lily stammered. She turned back to Riley."Yes,very fascinating. So,Riley,is this one of your friends?"She murmered quietly, tilting her head.

"Err...yes," he replied, his voice cold and betraying none of his emotions, if he held any. "More of an...acquaintance, Lily is. She lives next dore." He flicked his tail in the direction of the house that the white she-cat resided in. Riley's eyes locked on 'Cane's' for a while, but then turned to Lily. "So, um, what is it that you're doing here, Lily?"
Lily's fearful blue eyes finally left Cane and came to meet Riley's. "Uhh, y-y-you know," she squeaked, her fear-betraying eyes sneaking over to Cane's murky ones every now and then. "J-just...h-h-hanging...out."

Cane let her lips curl into a distburbing smile."'hanging out'?"She mocked the she-cat,eyes unmoving."Bats hang,my...Odd feline."
