((no, i dont. hold on.))
- Powerplaying is something that should be avoided at all costs.
- The following is powerplaying:
Tom leapt at Ryan; his jaws salivating as he quickly closed his powerful jaws around Ryan’s neck. His teeth sunk deep into his neck, and he kept on shaking his head as he felt the warm blood start to run down his throat. Pinning the other dog down on the floor, Tom continued along with his violent attitude until he finally felt Ryan’s neck crack, and he howled in triumph as he felt the other dog’s body fall still. He had won.
‘sunk deep into his neck – This is powerplaying because it is saying that he bit him successfully, and so decided the outcome.
‘felt the warm blood start to run down his throat’ – Again, you are saying that the attack was successful and Tom has no choice but to say he was bleeding now.
‘pinning the other dog down’ – There’s a difference between saying this and saying that they bit someone, because once pinned down they have no chance to move or dodge an attack.
‘finally felt Ryan’s neck crack’ – This is pretty obvious. Especially because if he really did break his neck, Tom wouldn’t have much of a chance of getting any better.
‘he had won’ – Yeah, I’m sure you get it by now.
- The following is not powerplaying:
Tom leapt at Ryan, his jaws salivating as he closed his powerful jaws around Ryan’s neck. He tugged at his fur, hoping desperately that he would soon taste the sweet flavour of blood, as he tried his best to hook his foreleg over Ryan’s back to pin him down. Closing his eyes tightly shut, he could only wish that he could hold on with the attack, and his heart yearned to feel his opponents body finally fall still with death.
‘powerful jaws around Ryan’s neck’ – This isn’t powerplaying, because whilst it’s saying that Tom bit Ryan, it’s not saying how bad the damage was.
‘tugged at his fur’ – This isn’t powerplaying because Ryan has lots of room to say that a mouthful of fur was all Tom got.
‘hoping desperately that he would soon taste the sweet flavour of blood’ – Tom isn’t saying that he could taste blood, therefore Ryan doesn’t have to say he was bleeding.
‘tried his best’ – Again, a good way of saying that was what Tom intended, without forcing it upon the other roleplayer.
‘he could only wish that he could hold on with the attack’ – Here, Ryan has a chance to say that the attack wasn’t successful, if he wants.
‘yearned to feel his opponents body fall still’ – This is what the character is thinking, but it isn’t what necessarily really happens.
- I will not take the excuse of ‘This isn’t what powerplaying is like on my other site!’. These are the rules that apply here, and powerplaying will not be tolerated. If you have any more questions, you can PM me or a member of staff.
